Good morning!  This morning’s study is from Pastor Greg Laurie again… getting these daily emails really makes it easy!

“Great peace have those who love Your law, and nothing causes them stumble.” — Psalm 119:165

I’m sure there are a lot of ways to apply this verse, but for me, at least right now, it speaks to daily stresses.  I got pulled over the other day because the tags on the car were expired (I didn’t even know!).  A few years ago this would have been catastrophic event in my life because I wasn’t really “playing by the rules”.  I didn’t have money to pay speeding tickets or buy insurance for the car, so I skirted those responsibilities.  I had warrants for my arrest for failing to appear in court because I didn’t have the money to take care of the speeding tickets and I wanted to avoid responsibility.

As I have grown and tried to follow the law better (I quit speeding and got insurance) I have had a sense of peace about something as mundane as driving.  Since I knew if I got pulled over, it would not have catastrophic consequences.

I consider that a “small situation”… but if we apply that to our lives, how much MORE peace do you have by knowing that there isn’t dire consequences around every corner?  People called me a square or boring, while they complain on social media about how everything has gone to… well… gone bad; but they don’t look at how just doing the right thing and following the “law” can keep them from that stress.

Those are my thoughts on that verse 🙂  Pastor Laurie’s take on it had to do with marriage.  Isn’t the Bible great!?!
