“When He thunders, the waters in the heavens roar; He makes clouds rise from the ends of the earth.  He sends lightning with the rain and brings out the wind from His storehouses.” – Jeremiah 10:13

We have been having the rain lately.  On Monday we had a short but heavy downpour.  The next day Winfield got hit hard, and just this morning sometime after 3:00 we had another downpour.  Of course,  along with the rain came thunder and lightning.  The lightening I can do without, but the rain and thunder I will always welcome!  God is in control of the weather and He alone decides how much rain we receive.  In fact, God is in control of everything and even the weather obeys Him!

The Bible references many verses on thunder and I’d like to share a few of those:

“The Lord thundered from heaven.  The Most High made his voice heard. — 2 Samuel 22:14

 “The voice of the Lord is upon the waters; the God of glory thunders, the Lord is over many waters.”  — Psalm 29:3

“Your thunder was heard in the whirlwind, your lightning lit up the world: the earth trembled and quaked.”  —  Psalm 77:18

“At your rebuke the waters fled, at the sound of your thunder they took to flight.”  —  Psalm 104:7

“God thunders his voice wondrously, doing great things which we cannot comprehend.”  — Job 37:5”
