So, I might have mentioned earlier that I hadn’t done devotions for a while… and currently I’m not doing just one source.  I have daily emails from Pastor Greg Laurie and an app on my phone that sends me two studies a day.  I usually pick one, read it and then give my thoughts here about it.  But if it weren’t for Bible Gateway… I might not be able to do a study!  So I just wanted to thank them for their site! 🙂

So today’s verse was 1 John 4:8 “Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.”

I REALLY feel like that message is lost on a lot of Christians today… In general it seems that the news is full of Christians being seen in a negative light.  Usually because the Christian has done something blatantly wrong that doesn’t really follow Jesus’ teachings.  I guess I don’t understand why the people would call themselves a follower of Christ, if they are spewing hate?  Because clearly, without showing love, you can’t claim to really know God.

I hope that people can bring back a positive light on Christians… and I REALLY hope that people that call themselves Christians can truly act like a follower of Christ and start spreading love instead of hate.
